About Jamie Barone
- Jamie grew up in Stamford, CT. In high school, he helped Fairfield Prep win its only State Open Swimming Championship in 1998.
- He attended Loyola College in Maryland, where he was captain of the NCAA Division I swim team for two years and set MAAC and school records.
- His senior year of college, Jamie joined the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. He trained under Head Coach Bob Bowman for three years.
- At NBAC, he served as an assistant coach and also helped coach the Loyola College swim team.
- Jamie was named "Rookie of the Meet" at Senior Nationals in 2002. He went on to be internationally ranked in the breaststroke and had several top eight finishes at Senior Nationals.
- After two years off from competitive swimming, and training for only 100 days before the August National Championships, Jamie was ranked 85th in the world in the 100 meter breaststroke for 2006. At that meet, he joined teammates Davis Tarwater, Klete Keller and Michael Phelps to win the 4x100 meter medley relay, representing Club Wolverine.
- He served as head coach of the 2005 Greenwich High School Girls' Junior Varsity Swim Team and Assistant Coach of the 2005-2006 Class LL and State Open Championship Greenwich High School Boys' Swim Team.
- He qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008, finishing 12th in the 100 meter breaststroke in 2004. He finished 33rd out of 80 swimmers in 2008 with a time of 1:03.33.
- Jamie spent two years on the full-time coaching staff of the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, where he coached 13- to 16-year-olds and assisted with the High Performance team.
- He is in Connecticut and is offering private and semi-private lessons in Stamford all summer.
