June 26, 2009. Jamie will be traveling to Indianapolis in early July with the North Baltimore Aquatic Club to help coach the team at the 2009 ConocoPhillips National Championships(World Championship Trials).

June 24, 2009. Founder and head of StrokeConsultant & Fast Lane Swimming, Jamie Barone has
just returned from helping coach his former team, the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, on their annual trip to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He was there for three and a half weeks. He also help coach the team at the Santa Clara Invitational meet. He was briefly visible on TV during the Universal Sports network's coverage of the meet.

Shoulder pain? It's almost always about technique. Physicians are referring swimmers with shoulder pain to Jamie. We usually can identify the problem and correct it within the first session.

We continue to offer clinics for triathletes. The weakest part of most triathletes' background is in swimming. Using our underwater camera, innovative coaching techniques and personalized instruction methods, Stroke Consultant can improve a triathlete's efficiency in the water.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF JAMIE BARONE
  • Jamie grew up in Stamford, CT. In high school at Fairfield Prep, he helped the team win its only State Open Swimming Championship in 1998.
  • He attended Loyola College in Maryland, where he was captain of the NCAA Division I swim team for two years and set MAAC and school records in the breaststroke.
  • In his senior year of college, Jamie joined the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. He trained under Head Coach Bob Bowman for three and a half years.
  • While at NBAC, he served as an assistant coach and also helped coach the Loyola College swim team.
  • Jamie was named "Rookie of the Meet" at Senior Nationals in 2002. He went on to be internationally ranked in the breaststroke and had several top eight finishes at Senior Nationals.
  • Despite having been away from competitive swimming for almost two years and training for only 100 days before the August National Championships, Jamie was ranked 85th in the world in the 100 meter breaststroke for 2006. At that meet, he joined teammates Davis Tarwater, Klete Keller and Michael Phelps to win the 4X100 meter medley relay while representing Club Wolverine.
  • He served as head coach of the 2005 Greenwich High School Girls' Junior Varsity Swim Team and Assistant Coach of the 2005-2006 Class LL and State Open Championship Greenwich High School Boys' Swim Team.
  • He qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008, finishing 12th in the 100 meter breaststroke in 2004 and 33rd in a field of 80 swimmers with a time of 1:03.33 in 2008.
  • Jamie currently swims for the New York Athletic Club.
WHAT JAMIE CAN DO FOR YOU:
  • He will analyze your strokes, turns and starts.
  • He will help you correct flaws in technique.
  • You will receive personal instruction in all aspects of swimming including developing a positive attitude.
  • Here is an example. In 37 swims at the final meet with Jamie as the head coach, the Greenwich High School Girls' Junior Varsity Team swam 34 personal best times.
